Let’s Celebrate Our 5th Graders!

Class of 2032

The 5th Grade Send Off is a bunch of fun and meaningful activities meant to celebrate and commemorate the end of elementary school (the school most students will have spent the largest amount of time in)! Some events are organized by teachers, some by parents and some by both; if you want to help – reach out! There’s room for all! 

To cover the costs of these events and other items, the planning committee is coordinating several fundraisers and we’re hopeful to have your support!

“Dump the Junk” Fundraiser – Thank you to the Troupe family and Troupe Waste Management for helping us get rid of clutter for a good cause!

Car Wash Fundraiser - This is a fun, rite of passage fundraising experience run by the students! All 5th graders are invited and encouraged to participate if they are able.   

If you’re unable to support the events and would like to make a donation, the suggested amount is $40 per student.

When making a donation, please note the name of your fifth grader and “5th Grade Send Off.”

Important Details for 5th Grade Families

  • All 5th grade students and teachers receive a commemorative t-shirt with all student names on the back. Please reach out to coordinator, Julie Rouse (julieannerouse@gmail.com) with questions!

  • Please submit photos for the yearbook by April 15. Every 5th grader will receive a yearbook highlighting the events that shaped their time at Vinal School. We will use their school photos from kindergarten and fifth grade in the yearbook. Yearbook photos can only include school related photos (field trips, classroom celebrations, Field Day, PTO sponsored events, etc.).

    • Please submit your child’s kindergarten school photo as directed in the email. Fifth grade school photos are already on file!

    • If you would like to submit personal photos for inclusion in the yearbook, you can share 3-4 pictures and we will include as many as possible. Any pictures submitted for the yearbook should be strictly school related and can be from any grade level—the kids love looking back on their early elementary years.

  • The slideshow is shown during the Send Off Ceremony. Unlike the yearbook, the slideshow can include photos in AND outside of school such as sporting events, birthday parties, club activities, etc. Please reach out to Jess Oar (jessoar@gmail.com) and Shannon Russo (srusso3131@gmail.com) with questions. Deadline for photo submissions is May 2!

The Send Off Ceremony is scheduled for the evening of June 12, 2025. This short ceremony takes place in the Vinal gym and is run in partnership with the fifth grade teachers. It includes a procession of the students through a star-studded, red-carpeted hallway, awarding of certificates and a slideshow.

The Send Off Ceremony is immediately followed by an AFTER PARTY in the Vinal cafeteria. This parent-run event is open to 5th grade students only (no parents or siblings) and includes pizza, candy, DJ, photo booth and more!
